Sad news curlers.

Stay safe, stay home.Effective Dec 14 at 12:01 a.m., Ontario is moving seven public health regions to new levels in the Response Framework.

• Windsor-Essex County Health Unit and the York Region Public Health are moving to Grey–Lockdown. Limit all trips outside your home for essential reasons only, like buying groceries or medical appointments.
• Middlesex-London Health Unit, Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, and Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health are moving to Red-Control.
• Eastern Ontario Health Unit is moving to Orange-Restrict.
• Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit is moving to Yellow-Protect.

These measures are being taken to limit community transmission of COVID-19 in order to keep schools open, safeguard health system capacity, and protect the province’s most vulnerable populations. Avoid non-essential travel to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Hi Everyone, this means we have to close temporarily due to the capacity restrictions of being in the red zone. Have a safe holiday season. We will be curling in the new year!

Are YOU at risk in 2021?

In my study today, I was diving deeper on the topic of risk, or what I like to call "perceived risk," (because thinking makes it so) and I wanted to share some passages from my readings.

What causes individuals to shy away from taking a risk, even if it is a low risk, and will give them something they really want? Well, high on most people's list would be fear of loss and that is what the dictionary tells us risk is: "To expose oneself to the chance of loss."

Why would we automatically think that loss is a real possibility and govern our actions under that belief?

It dates back to our little life. When you were a child taking your very first steps, it wasn't uncommon to hear one of your parents or guardians say "Be careful, you might fall." Or in other instances: "Don't do that! You'll...." And thus begins the pattern of playing it safe.

So, where is your outlook for 2021? Are you seeing real opportunity to experiencing major happiness, health, and wealth? Or are you on the cautious, "let's wait and see" approach. If you are on the latter, you are exposing yourself to great risk in 2021! The biggest risk? A repeat of 2020!

You see, you will never get to second base if you keep one foot on first. And, when people get caught up in the habit of saving for a rainy day, that is generally what they get...a rainy day.

If you dream of living your life in a really big way (homes, cars, travel, philanthropy, happiness, health) you must accept risk-taking as a very real part of the journey.

How you do anything is how you do EVERYTHING. How are you "investing" for your wealth, health, and happiness? How are you thinking and acting?

Make a decision right now. Decide this very moment there will be no more playing it more saving it for a rainy day. Prudence and responsibility yes. There is a difference from safety. Start now and 2021 will be a fantabulous year!

I will leave you with a little perspective of what risk really is:

To laugh is to risk appearing the fool.
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.
To reach out to another is to risk involvement.
To expose feelings is to risk exposing your true self.
To place your ideas, your dreams before a crowd is to risk their loss.
To love is to risk not being loved in return.
To live is to risk dying.
To hope is to risk despair.
To try is to risk failure.

Step out and bet on the surest thing in the world! Yourself!
